As many of our blog followers will know I absolutely love my Sizzix Bigshot diecutting machine and have a vast array of cutting die designs, some would say I have too many die designs but I disagree 😉
What I love most about the Bigshot is its versatility, I have yet to find a brand of cutting die which is not compatible with this machine – something which is great for widening my choice of designs but is not so good for the bank balance as I have now acquired dozens of dies from many different designers.
When I recently discovered a new cutting die (I am not sure when it was released but I have only recently seen it) in the ‘Marianne’ collection I fell in love, it is a multiple layer design and I knew instantly that there would be many different design ideas for its beautiful layering options.
One of the first things which came to mind was a range of wedding stationery using this die cut design as the focal point… I have many more ideas in mind but here is my first.
This wedding invitation is made from white cardstock, gold cardstock, gold ribbon and a pretty silver ribbon slider.
I cut the main two layers of the design alternating in gold and white, before cutting two slits at either end of the top layer. I then threaded the gold ribbon through the slider and each slit in the card before assembling onto a white base pocket invitation.
This design can be handcrafted in and colour to match your wedding theme and the slider comes in different styles which can be easily adapted.
