Roadtrip to Blackpool – 17.09.2013

We’ve all been working hard lately with not much time for anything else so we decided we needed a day off to ‘let our hair down’ and relax.

After talking to Kelly and Pete, our close friends and fellow small business owner, we decided on a day out in Blackpool.

We set the date… Tuesday 17th September 2013.

The weather was pretty miserable when we left Stoke-on-Trent… heavy rain and very windy but we decided to go anyway.

The weather in Blackpool was much better, not at all cold and only the occasional drizzly showers… when we left Stoke we really didn’t think we’d be spending the afternoon sitting on North Pier!!

We were very surprised at how quiet Blackpool was, hardly any people around and even the amusement arcades had hardly anyone in them!

Kelly, Pete, Gord and I were the ONLY people on North Pier around 5pm… that’s almost unheard of as far as we can remember.

This years Blackpool Illuminations were a lot different from what I remember, though it must be twenty-ish years since I saw the illuminations but we all enjoyed them…especially the animated display and the lit up trams 😀

Now we’re back to work with lots to do… customer orders, new designs for stock and preparing for the many events we will be attending in the lead up to Christmas.

At least we have the memories of this roadtrip to keep us going for a while!!
