The first of May already? Where has the year gone so far? It seems to be passing in a blur but a blur of positivity so we’re not complaining!!
Today saw our second event of the year… the dog show and fundraising event at Heywood Engineering College, Stoke on Trent. As it was an outdoor event, yesterday’s torrential rain left us very concerned, especially when we were advised that there could be a shortage of gazebo at the event.
This morning we headed out for the twenty minute journey to Heywood Engineering College, the weather seemed ok… dry but cloudy, but we were feeling positive. By 11:15am we were all set up for the dog show starting at 12noon… sadly we were the only craft stall who turned up, there were another six booked who didn’t show up but we put our best side forward and set about promoting Cards And Candles For All Occasions.
We were very impressed by the progress of the day… we handed out lots of literature for our website, future events and our candles, made lots of sales and also a few custom orders so we came home very happy indeed.
On top of the very productive sales today, we also got information on another couple of local events which we are looking into, so all in all it was a very worthwhile day… definitely one we’d like to add to our diary for next year.
Of course, no dog show would be complete without dogs, so here are a couple of our favourite four legged competitors in today’s competition:
Tomorrow will be spent working on our custom orders and replacing some of our stock which we sold today and of course preparing for our next event which is Monday 3rd May 2010 at Blackshaw Moor First School… hopefully it will be another fab day. Why not pop along and say hi 🙂
