Happy Days

You may have noticed that for a few days now things have been relatively quiet on the Cards & Candles For All Occasions front but there has been good reason for this!!

We have recently had a little unexpected windfall which came as a nice surprise to both Gord and myself, so we decided it was time to invest some money into our crafting (as well as the house) and we have bought a super-fan-dangle Cricut Expression!!! Such an exciting machine!!!

So what is a Cricut Expression? The Cricut Expression is an electronic diecutting machine with soooo many possibilities… it’s pretty much every cardmaker and scrapbookers dream machine as there as so many cartridges available for it, you can cut each letter and shape in varying sizes and you can also cut through various different thicknesses of card, etc as it has adjustable blade depth and also a “deep cut blade” available too. To give you an idea of the machine, here is the description taken from their website:

The Cricut Expression® is a way to cut letters, shapes, and phrases in impressive sizes using the 12″ x 24″ mat or the 12″ x 12″ mat. The possibilities are endless with this larger machine, allowing you to create bigger die cuts for classroom decor, scrapbook layouts, signage, and so much more.

* Mix and match creative features in the same cut
* Use the entire library of existing Cricut cartridges
* Cut in portrait or landscape
* Mat sizes 12″ x 12″ or 12″ x 24″
* No computer necessary
* Change settings such as language and units of measurement
* New LCD screen that shows exactly what you’re typing for your next cut

I am in love!! It’s such a fab machine with so many options, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of ideas… and I’ve already got my eye on a fwe different cartridges for it too. I’ve been having a play around with it this afternoon but I think I’m going to wait until my Cricut Spatula arrives as the cutting mat is so sticky that each time I try to get my cut outs off I’ve ripped them… spatula on order though so hopefully should be here soon 🙂

We have also been working on some new stock this week which will be added soon… a few new dreamcatchers and keepsake cards, all go in preparation for the craft fair season – see where we’ll be HERE. More dates to be added soon.

After two days of retail therapy I think tonight will be a well deserved evening of relaxation either playing Guitar Hero on the Xbox360 or watching some Saturday night nonsense on television, either way I think a takeaway is in order for tea.

We’re both looking forward to Monday as we’re going for a drive to Warrington to meet the lovely Wendy of 1st Unique Gifts to collect our order and some lovely wood from her garden for a couple of projects that Gord has in the pipeline. Don’t forget if you’re looking for a special and/or personalised gift to have a look on Wendy’s site… lots of lovely ideas at very reasonable prices and fantastic customer service too.

Hope you all have a fab weekend and we’ll be back soon with some fab new ideas!! 🙂
